Privacy Policy

Vantage handles a few categories of information:

• Business operations data entered or generated by SoleBurbanShoes personnel while using Vantage — inventory records (product identification, condition, style code, size, pricing, cost of goods, and photos), storage/location data, listing content, and order and fulfillment records.
• Vantage user account information for SoleBurbanShoes personnel authorized to use the software — an email address and login credentials. Passwords are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes and are never stored or visible in plain text.
• Information obtained through authorized connections to third-party services, such as eBay, including order details, line items, listing/item identifiers, fulfillment and shipping status, and buyer shipping information where necessary to pack and ship an order — to the extent that service makes it available and it is necessary for the business operations described below.
• Authentication credentials and tokens issued by a third-party service when SoleBurbanShoes authorizes Vantage to connect to that service (see “Third-Party Services” below).

Information handled by Vantage is used only to run SoleBurbanShoes' business, specifically to:

• Operate and support inventory management, product listing, order processing, fulfillment, and related business analytics and reporting.
• Synchronize and reconcile data between Vantage and connected third-party services — for example, matching a marketplace order to the correct physical inventory item.
• Maintain accurate financial and operational records, including cost of goods, marketplace fees, and sale proceeds.
• Meet obligations required by connected third-party platforms, such as responding to a user's account or data deletion request relayed through that platform.
• Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of Vantage and the systems it connects to.

Vantage does not sell personal information to any third party, under any circumstances. Vantage does not use information for advertising or marketing purposes.

Vantage may connect to third-party services — such as eBay — through those services' own official, authorized APIs, using an authentication method provided by the third-party service itself (such as OAuth). When SoleBurbanShoes authorizes such a connection:

• Vantage accesses only the data that service makes available and that is reasonably necessary for inventory, listing, order, fulfillment, and related business operations.
• Vantage securely stores the authentication credentials/tokens issued by that service so the authorized connection can be maintained without requiring re-authorization for every request.
• Access to a connected account is authorized and controlled through that third-party service's own authentication and authorization systems, and can be revoked at any time — either from within Vantage or directly through the third-party service's own account settings. Once revoked, Vantage can no longer access that account or any further data from it.
• Vantage's use of information obtained from eBay is additionally subject to eBay's own API terms and developer program policies.

This Privacy Policy covers Vantage's own handling of information only. It does not cover, and Vantage is not responsible for, the separate privacy practices of any third-party service it connects to — refer to that service's own privacy policy for how it handles data on its end.

• Third-party authentication credentials and access tokens are encrypted at rest, and are never displayed in Vantage's interface or shared with any party other than the third-party service that issued them.
• Vantage user account passwords are never stored in plain text.
• Access to Vantage requires authentication and is restricted to authorized SoleBurbanShoes personnel.
• All traffic to and from Vantage is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Vantage uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to its scale as internal business software, but no method can be guaranteed 100% secure.

• Business operations data (such as inventory and completed sale records) is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for SoleBurbanShoes' business, financial, and legal recordkeeping.
• Third-party authentication credentials/tokens are retained only while the corresponding connection remains active, and are deleted when that connection is disconnected.
• Where a connected third-party service provides a mechanism for one of its users to request deletion of their personal information (for example, eBay's account deletion notifications), SoleBurbanShoes honors such requests with respect to information held by Vantage — while retaining what is reasonably necessary for financial and legal recordkeeping, such as an anonymized record that a sale occurred.
• Vantage user accounts belonging to personnel who no longer need access are deactivated.
